One pinned in car after power pole struck

One person was pinned inside a vehicle and had to be rescued by emergency crews after THE car hit a power pole and overturned Monday night in Fayetteville.

The crash happened at Moore and Hillsboro streets about 9 p.m., according to police watch commanders.

Two power poles were damaged in the incident, and power lines were lying in the road and across the railroad tracks, according to scanner reports. The Public Works Commission notified CSX Transportation, the owner of the railroad, that the lines were down, according to scanner reports. PWC said the downed lines did not cause a power outage.
