Suspect sought in YaYa Food Mart shootings

Police are looking for the driver of a 2009 Ford Focus that was seen at the YaYa Food Mart on Saturday around the time two men there were shot to death.

The car was spotted on surveillance tapes taken from the store at 3122 Murchison Road, according to a release from the Fayetteville Police Department.

Waheed Abdo Abdulla, 30, the store owner, and Demetrius Deshawn Johnson, 20, were discovered after officers were called at 1:07 a.m. about shots being fired, police have said.

Abdulla was found dead inside the store; Johnson was found wounded in his car at the outside gas pump, according to police. He died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
