Moore man charged with murder

SOUTHERN PINES - Southern Pines police have charged a Moore County man with first-degree murder.

Claudio Daniel Castillo, 18, was arrested Saturday after police found the victim with a head injury at 1225 Central Drive, according to a release from the Police Department.

The victim, whose name was not released, died at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, the release said.

Castillo was being held in the Moore County Detention Center Tuesday without bail.
